American rapper Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, who faced a parade of sexual harassment and human trafficking allegations, was arrested on Monday after he was indicted by a federal grand jury in New York.

The rapper who has been in New York City since last week was arrested at the Park Hyatt Hotel in Manhattan and taken into custody by Homeland Security Investigations at around 8:15 p.m. The indictment was sealed and details of the charges weren’t immediately announced by prosecutors, but U.S. attorney, Damian Williams, confirmed in a statement that federal agents had Combs in custody.

About the arrest, Marc Agnifilo, an attorney for Combs, said that they were disappointed with the decision and believed that it was an unjust prosecution of Mr. Combs by the U.S. Attorney’s Office. Combs attorney also mentioned that the musician has been cooperating with the investigation that led to the indictment and have voluntarily relocated to New York last week in anticipation of these charges. His team maintains his innocence, and says he has “nothing to hide.”

The American rapper has been accused of abusive behavior in at least ten lawsuits, nine directly accusing him of sexual assault. Combs became the target of a sex trafficking probe by the Homeland Security Investigations agency since a long time. The issue came into the spotlight with the dramatic searches of the musician’s Los Angeles and Miami homes this March. The searches were conducted after his ex-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura, filed a lawsuit of sex trafficking and abuse against him.

Combs, who denied the allegations, issued a public apology earlier this year when the surveillance footage of him brutally assaulting Ventura in Los Angeles was released by several media houses.
