Shah Rukh Khan-Preity Zinta Starrer Veer Zaara Enters 100 Cr Club After Re-Release (image@yrf)
Veer Zaara, the epic cross-border love story between Veer Pratap Singh and Zara Hayaat Khan, had a strong grip on its audience when it was first released in 2004. The Shah Rukh Khan- Preity Zinta film can be placed top on the evergreens, as it continues to enthral the audience all the same even after 20 years. The film crossed 100 crores at global box office after its re-release on September 13th.
The film originally collected Rs 61 crore gross in India and Rs 37 crore overseas, earning a total of Rs 98 crore. Over the years, it has been re-released several times. The film now stands at Rs 102.60 crore worldwide, surpassing the Rs 100 crore mark.
Bollywood trade analyst and film critic Taran Adarsh confirmed the film crossing the 100 crore mark. He wrote, “VEER ZAARA CROSSES ₹ 100 CR WORLDWIDE GROSS ON RE-RELEASE… Released in very few cinemas [282] and with limited showings, the timeless classic Veer Zaara – originally released in 2004 – fares very well in its re-release. As it enters Week 2 [203 cinemas], Veer Zaara should attract substantial foot traffic on National Cinema Day, with tickets priced at ₹ 99 today.”
Taran Adarsh added, “[Week 1; re-release] Fri 20 lacs, Sat 32 lacs, Sun 38 lacs, Mon 20 lacs, Tue 18 lacs, Wed 15 lacs, Thu 14 lacs. Total: ₹ 1.57 cr.
