Shweta Sharda won the Miss Universe Diva 2023, held in Mumbai on 27 August, and would now be representing India at the Miss Universe Pageant set to be at El Salvador, a country in Central America.
The Chandigarh born 24-year old beauty is presently doing her graduation from Indira Gandhi National Open University. She has been part of reality shows Dance India Dance, Jhalak Dikhlaka and Dance Deewane and has also choreographed in Jhalak Dikhlaja, reported the quint.
She has featured in Zubin Nautiyal and Tulsi Kumar’s music video ‘mast ankhein’ alongside Shantanu Maheswari which can be viewed on Instagram and of now, she has more than four lakh followers.
She came to Mumbai at the age of 16 and is the daughter of a single mother. On her crowning glory, Shweta wore a gown in gold and aubergine with a thigh high slit designed by Nikita Mhalsalkar. She was crowned by Miss Diva Universe 2022, Divita Rai.
The other winners were, Sonal Kukreja from Delhi as Miss Diva Supranational 2023, a student of marketing and public relations, Pennsylvania State University, USA. She is the founder of a startup, Unicas, which deals with innovative crypto financial services, reported the HT.
Miss Diva 2023 Runner-up was Trisha Shetty, 22-year old Psychology graduate, professional model and an actor from Karnataka. Trained in Bharatnatyam, Kathak and Belly dancing, she said she would want to include mental health education in school curriculum at an early age.
As for Shweta, the woman who has inspired her is Sushmita Sen, for Sonam, she mentioned Priyanka Chopra and for Trisha, the idol was Lara Dutta, HT reported.
