The Bollywood icon reminisced about her remarkable achievement and transformative journey that profoundly impacted her life by sharing a photo on Instagram.
As a tribute to the celebration of the three decades of achievement, Sushmita shared a nostalgic 30-year-old photo of her, holding a toddler while smiling at her, with her Miss Universe sash, encapsulating the radiance of her victory, captioning, “WHAT AN HONOUR!!!”
Recollecting her encounter at an orphanage, shortly after her historic triumph at the Miss Universe Beauty pageant, Sushmita recalled a profound lesson that the toddler had imparted to her. She shared, “This little girl, who I met in an orphanage, taught an 18-year-old me, life’s most innocent yet profound lessons, ones that I live by to this day.”
Expressing gratitude for the country, she wrote, “Thank you India for always being my greatest identity & strength.” Remarking on her transformative and inspiring journey, she added, “What a journey it’s been and continues to be.”
In her post, she also mentioned, “Thank you Philippines for the unending love…Three decades and counting #mahalkita.” Sushmita was crowned in the Philippines when the pageant was held in 1994. Since then, the actress has repeatedly said that the country holds a special place in her heart.
Sushmita also extended her gratitude to her beloved fans, friends, family, and well-wishers around the world, stating that each one had made a difference in her life and inspired her in many ways.
