"Slow-Burn Thriller, Clever And Novel": Kishkindha Kaandam Review

Helmed by Dinjith Ayyathan in his second directorial venture, the much anticipated Kishkindha Kaandam hit the big screen today, offering a novel experience to cinephiles, according to reviews by several media houses. The trailer had already given excitement regarding the mystery and other intrinsic elements of the movie. It also presented glimpses of the exciting journey through the wilderness of Kerala, providing an adrenaline rush to the cinephiles.

Projected as a psychological thriller, featuring Asif Ali and Aparna Balamurali in the lead roles, the film includes a bunch supporting cast that includes Vijayaraghavan, Jagadish, Ashokan, Nishan, Vaishnavi Raj, Major Ravi, Nizhalkal Ravi, Shebin Benson, Kottayam Ramesh, Bilas Chandrahasan, Master Aarav, and Jibin Gopinath.

The movie depicts the unusual and mysterious events and disturbances in a village with many monkeys. Malayalam media house Mathribumi called the movie a heart-touching and novel story. The performance exhibited by the actors has been commended as each person with mysterious characters successfully embodying its dept.

The news portal OTT Play attributed the movie’s strength to its screenplay, noting that the movie connected a case of a missing gun in a forest filled with monkeys along with the pieces that both Appunni and Aparna are trying to fit together to solve, in their separate ways, to fully understand what happened on the day Ajayan’s son went missing. The media house also appreciated the movie’s elements, such as mistrust, dignity, understanding, empathy, love, and concern, as all are thrown in equal measures as the film progresses.
