'Kanmanipoove' from Thudarum Proves Why Mohanlal-Shobana Remain Malayalam Cinema's Most Beloved Pair
Thudarum, one of the most eagerly anticipated movies of the year by Tharun Moorthy has been generating buzz among fans who are eagerly waiting to see the iconic duo of Mohanlal and Shobana recreate the magic of their classic pairing in Nadodikattu.
Now, one of the songs ‘Kanmanipoove‘ is out with its soulful melody and nostalgic charm evoking memories of another timeless classic like ”Vaishakha Sandhye”.
The song, sung by the legendary M.G. Sreekumar is a mellifluous melody that bestows a visual treat with the immense chemistry between the iconic duo.

The pleasant scenes, beautifully captured by cinematographer Shaji Kumar will transport you back to the golden era of Malayalam cinema, reminiscent of the classic Mohanlal-Shobana pairings.
Within just 20 hours of its release, the song has garnered over 12 lakh views, and the numbers are still rising and the song is currently trending on YouTube.
The song’s audio credits include composition and arrangement by Jakes Bejoy, and lyrics by B.K. Harinarayanan, and music production by Jakes Bejoy, KC Balasarangan, Antony George, and Maneesh Shaji.
The movie, directed by Tharun Moorthy is produced by M.Renjith under the banner Rejaputhra Visual Media and marks Mohanlal’s 56th collaboration with Shobana.
The film’s production team has been tight-lipped about the release strategy and is reportedly planning to be a potential OTT release. According to reports, the producers are indeed exploring OTT release deals, but not sure.

It was said that Thudarum would be released on January 30th, 2025, now the uncertainty surrounding ‘Thudarum’s’ release strategy has reached stupefaction.
However, the film promises to be a complete family entertainer, blending action, comedy, and emotion in equal measure. The star actor Mohanlal shared the first poster of Thudarum on social media accounts a few months back.
The expectations are quite high as this marks the first collaboration of Mohanlal with Tharun Moorthy who is best known for the critically acclaimed films Operation Java and Saudi Vellakka.
The highlight of the film is that the much-awaited iconic duo is reuniting in the film after a long gap of 15 years. This marks a special milestone not only for the actors but also for Malayalam cinema. Both iconic actors were in the last scene of the action flick Sagar Alias Jacky Reloaded which was released in the year 2009.
