Actor Suriya is gearing up for his next high-octane action flick titled Retro. The actor, who terrified the audience with his menacing first look and an intriguing teaser, is all set to hunt hearts of millions this summer.
The Karthik Subbaraj directorial finally got a release date. The makers have promised a spectacular treat for fans on this 2025 Labour Day. Retro, starring Suriya and Pooja Hegde, will hit the theatres on May 1, 2025.

The announcement comes a day after Suriya’s previous outing, Kanguva, secured a place on the eligible list of Oscars 2025.
Radiating the ferocity of Suriya’s character, the maker unveiled the release date with another thematic poster. The poster features the actor in a labourer’s uniform holding a rod while portraying a furious glare on his face. The poster reads, “The one from May one.”

After introducing Suriya’s look for the film, the team unveiled the title teaser as a Christmas treat for fans. The teaser introduces different chapters of the film, such as love, violence, promise, rowdyism, and hooliganism, and hints at a high-octane action saga.
The previous character teaser revealed the actor’s gangster look with a menacing smile, and this teaser offers something more. The back-to-back updates of the film are increasing the curiosity of the audience.

Produced by Stone Bench Films and Suriya’s 2D Entertainment, the film is set to feature music by Santhosh Narayanan, a frequent collaborator of Karthik Subbaraj. The film’s cinematography credit goes to Shreyaas Krishna, while the editing came under Mohammed Shafique Ali. Art direction is by Jacki and Mayapandi.
