Trump Threatens Legal Action Against Trevor Noah Over Epstein Joke At Grammys

US President Donald Trump has threatened to sue comedian Trevor Noah after a joke made at the Grammy Awards sparked controversy.

Trevor Noah, who was hosting the event, joked about Trump, Jeffrey Epstein and former President Bill Clinton while presenting the Song of the Year award.

During his monologue, Noah made a remark linking Trump’s interest in Greenland to Epstein’s private island, which drew immediate backlash. Trump later responded strongly, saying the joke was false and defamatory.

Taking to his social media platform Truth Social, Trump denied ever visiting Epstein’s island or being involved in any wrongdoing.

He said he had never been accused of such actions and warned that his lawyers would take action against Noah. Trump also criticised the comedian personally, calling him a “loser” and demanding that he get his facts right.

Trump acknowledged that he knew Epstein in the past but repeated that he had no knowledge of Epstein’s crimes and that they had cut ties years before Epstein’s arrest.

US authorities have previously stated that allegations linking Trump to Epstein’s criminal activities are unfounded.

Jeffrey Epstein, who faced serious sex trafficking charges, died in a New York jail in 2019. His private island, Little St James, has been at the centre of allegations made by multiple survivors.

This is not the first time Trump has threatened or pursued legal action against media organisations or public figures. Trevor Noah, a South African-born comedian, is best known for hosting The Daily Show for seven years before stepping down.
