The much-anticipated Malayalam action film Daveed, directed by Govind Vishnu and co-written by Deepu Rajeevan, finally hit the big screens. With its promotions promising a captivating cinematic experience, the film easily generated a significant buzz. The action-packed film boasts an impressive ensemble cast, featuring Antony Varghese, Lijomol, Vijayaraghavan, Mo Ismail, Saiju Kurup, Aju Varghese, Jess Kukku, and Kichu Tellus. However, in the film, what caught the attention of many was the character of Sainul Akhmadov, portrayed by the famous Egyptian-born American actor Mo Ismail. The character Sainul Akhmadov is the rival of the protagonist portrayed by Antony Varghese Pepe.
The filming of the role spanned an intense 72 days, during which Mo had to maintain a staggering sub-3% body fat, as per the report of Desert Eagle Films. Taking up the role was a huge challenge for the actor. “Becoming S.A. was unlike anything I’ve ever done. It wasn’t just about physical transformation. It was about pushing boundaries, embodying the discipline, and living every ounce of this character,” he said.

Who is Mo Ismail?
Mo Ismail, also known as Mo Muscles, is an Egyptian-born American actor and producer. Over the past decades, with his prodigious passion for film, music, entertainment, health, and fitness, the muscle man has collaborated with the world’s largest stars. His passion had begun at the very early age of 15. However, he took off with his wings in 2010 and was featured in many commercial brands, including Rolls Royce, BMW, GMC, Etisalat, and many more.
Mo Ismail’s involvement in the film is not just a testament to his versatile acting capabilities but also an indication of his expanding influence in the Indian film industry as well. Being known for his performance in Hollywood and Middle Eastern cinema, Ismail’s participation in the Malayalam film has surged the anticipation.
When it always comes to movies, Mo Ismail likes to take up some challenging roles. He always acted in films within the genres of action, drama, gangster, and war films. Apart from his impressive acting skills, in 2014, Mo decided to step behind the camera and focus his efforts on production instead. For the first project, Mo took up the role of 2nd AD and released his first work within 3 months. Ever since then, Mo has collaborated and produced music videos, commercials, and films for some of the biggest names in entertainment, such as Sean Paul, RedOne, Shaggy, Fat Joe, Akon, Maya Diab, Badshah, Raftaar, Afroto, Mohamed Assaf, Menon, Ahmed Hassan, and many more.

Expressing his contentment on being part of a Malayalam movie, Ismail had said in a press release, “Daveed is the first of its kind sports drama film in the South film industry. The film shed light on the world of fighters with action-packed revenge dramas. Each confrontation is filmed as a work of art.”
Reflecting on the collaboration of Middle Eastern talent and Indian cinema, Mo had referred to it as a “cultural milestone.”
“Malayalam cinema is known for its depth and creativity, and being the first Egyptian actor to contribute to this tradition is a humbling honor,” he added.
