Yash’s Toxic Postponed Amid Middle East Tensions, Say Makers

Actor Yash’s much-awaited film Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grownups has been postponed due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, the makers announced on March 4.

The film was earlier scheduled for a grand theatrical release on March 19, but will now hit screens on June 4.

In an official statement shared by the team and KVN Productions, the makers said the decision was taken in view of the current global situation.

“The current uncertainty, especially in the Middle East, has created a situation that impacts our goal to reach and connect with the widest possible audience,” the statement read.

The postponement comes amid rising tensions in West Asia following strikes by the United States and Israel on Iran and subsequent retaliatory attacks.

The film was set to clash at the box office with Dhurandhar: The Revenge, starring Ranveer Singh, which is still scheduled to release on March 19. With Toxic moving to June, Dhurandhar 2 will now have a solo release window.

According to the makers, overseas distribution partner Phars Films advised them to reschedule the release, considering the situation in key international markets. The team thanked fans for their patience and support, adding that the film has been crafted to connect with audiences both in India and globally.

Directed by Geethu Mohandas, Toxic has been shot in both English and Kannada.

The film features an ensemble cast including Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Huma Qureshi, Rukmini Vasanth, and Tara Sutaria in pivotal roles.

The film’s first single, “Tabaahi,” was recently released and received a positive response from fans.

A grand trailer launch was earlier planned for March 8 in Bengaluru. With the new release date set for June 4, fans will now have to wait a little longer to watch Yash return to the big screen.
