“A Hero… Feel Sad For Him": Arvind Kejriwal On Satyender Jain

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal expressed his solidarity with former Delhi Minister and AAP leader Satyender Jain, who was directed by the Supreme Court to surrender in connection with the Delhi Excise Policy case. Kejriwal shared a video of Jain leaving his home following the court”s decision, emphasizing Jain”s contributions to the city, including 24×7 electricity, free electricity, and improvements in government hospitals and mohalla clinics.

Jain, who had been out on interim medical bail since May 26 the previous year, requested the court for one week”s time to surrender, citing health reasons. However, the Supreme Court rejected his plea and upheld its decision. The apex court also dismissed the bail application of co-accused Ankush Jain.

Arvind Kejriwal wrote on X: “He is a hero for all Dilli wallas (people of Delhi). He made arrangements for providing 24×7 electricity, free electricity, good govt hospitals and mohalla clinics. Feel extremely sad for him and his family. God bless him.”

Satyender Jain was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in May 2022 based on an FIR filed by the CBI under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). He faced allegations of money laundering through four companies linked to him during his tenure as minister from February 2015 to May 2017. Despite the accusations, Jain maintained his innocence, denying all charges against him.
