After Abhishek Banerjee, TMC MP Kalyan Banerjee Attacked In Hooghly Clash
Hooghly, West Bengal: A day after Trinamool Congress big wig, Abhishek Banerjee, was assaulted by a crowd, another party MP came under attack allegedly by the BJP supporters in West Bengal this morning, May 31.
Videos showed Kalyan Banerjee being hit on his head in Hooghly’s Chanditala, as cops tried to control the crowd. He then wrapped his hand around his head and fell to the ground.

TMC Chairperson Mamata Banerjee meets party MP Kalyan Banerjee at his residence after the attack. The TMC MP was attacked while on his way to submit a deputation at Chanditala Police Station. The TMC leader sustained a injury “at the hands of BJP-backed miscreants,” the party said, asking “how were these hooligans allowed to gather outside the police station?”
“How could brick-batting take place in the presence of the police? It has been 26 days since the election results were declared, yet post-poll violence continues unabated,” the TMC wrote in a social media post.
