“Atrocities Against Women Make One Unfit...": Khushbu Demands Rahul Mamkootathil’s Resignation

Actor and BJP national leader Khushbu Sundar has demanded the immediate resignation of Congress MLA Rahul Mamkootathil, stating that individuals accused of committing violence against women are unworthy of holding public office.

Speaking at the Ganesh idol immersion procession organised as part of the Palakkad Ganeshotsavam on Thursday, Khushbu said that merely suspending Mamkootathil from the Congress party is not enough.

“The people elected him with trust, and women were also part of that trust. By betraying that faith, he has lost the moral right to remain an MLA,” she said.

Khushbu launched a scathing attack not only on  Rahul Mamkootathil but also on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, drawing a parallel between the two.

“There are two Rahuls. one in Delhi and one here in Kerala. The Rahul in Delhi does nothing, and the Rahul here does all the wrong things. To both, I ask: Do you have a conscience?” she remarked.

Accusing the Congress of deceiving the people by portraying Mamkootathil’s suspension as sufficient action, Khushbu said the real reason he refuses to resign is fear of a by-election. “If a by-poll is held in Palakkad today, the BJP will win. That’s why he clings to power despite the allegations,” she added.

Khushbu also criticised the  Kerala government for remaining silent on the issue, pointing to what she called the tacit understanding between the CPI(M) and the Congress.

She further ridiculed Rahul Gandhi, claiming that his proclaimed devotion to Lord Shiva surfaces only during elections, while “at other times, he is vacationing in Bangkok.”

Her remarks ended on a strong note: “How many curses of women and mothers must you carry? God is watching everything. You must face the consequences of your actions in this very life — not in another birth,” she said.

“Those who commit atrocities against women are unfit to hold any public office. Rahul Mamkootathil must resign as MLA without delay, Rahul Mamkootathil must resign, and the people of Palakkad should get the chance to choose their representative again,” Khushbu added.
