BJP, Allies Lauds Budget 2024

The Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the Union Budget 2024 today. After her presentation, reactions from the political leaders have been flooding from different corners. However, BJP and its allies are praising the Union Budget 2024.  This budget aims to set direction for the ‘Vikshit Bharat’ or developed India by 2047.

Here’s what NDA leaders are saying about the Budget:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on X hails the Union Budget: “The #BudgetForViksitBharat ensures inclusive growth, benefiting every segment of society and paving the way for a developed India.”

Home Minister Amit Shah extended gratitude to PM Modi and the Finance Minister for the “pro-people and pro-development visionary budget.”

“The Budget 2024–25 not only exemplifies Bharat’s newfound sense of purpose, hope and optimism under the PM Modi Ji -led NDA government but also fortifies them. Harnessing the power of Bharat’s youth, Nari Shakti and farmers, the budget fuels the nation’s pace on the path of emerging as a developed nation by ushering in a new era of employment and opportunities,” said on a post on X.

In another post, Shah added: “The Budget 2024–25 reiterates PM Shri @narendramodi Ji’s unwavering commitment to driving economic growth by bolstering India’s entrepreneurial power and ease of doing business. It also provides relief to taxpayers by simplifying the tax assessment rules.”

Minister for Road Transport & Highways, Nitin Gadkari remarked, the Budget “promises to boost productivity in agriculture, enhance employment and skilling, and elevate human resources and social justice.”

This Budget is for the foundation of ‘Viksit Bharat’, Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan told ANI. “This budget focuses on the welfare of farmers, poor, women, youth and middle-class people. It will transform their lives. This budget looks after all the aspects from the farmer’s point of view…,” Minister added.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and TDP supremo N. Chandrababu Naidu praised the budget as “progressive and confidence-boosting”.  He extended gratitude to Prime Minister and Finance Minister “for recognising the needs of our State and focusing on a Capital, Polavaram, industrial nodes and development of backward areas in AP in the union budget of FY 24-25. This support from the Centre will go a long way towards rebuilding Andhra Pradesh.

  Though NDA ally, Janata Dal (United) JD(U)’s demand for special status for Bihar did not fulfilled, Union Minister Rajiv Ranjan (Lalan) Singh says that this Budget offers an “abundance of package for Bihar.” Minister told ANI:  “We had demanded special status or special package for Bihar. Today’s Budget has an abundance of package for Bihar. Whatever sector you look at – be it strengthening infrastructure or developing tourism or irrigation – there is abundance of schemes in every sector. After the implementation of these schemes, Bihar’s growth rate will go up…”

 Similarly, Union Minister and Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) Chirag Paswan told ANI, “As Bihari, I am extremely happy and in this Budget”, and this will “improve the infrastructure as well as the economy of the state…”

 Union Minister and Apna Dal (S) Chief  Anupriya Patel praised the Union Budget and said “The government has presented the roadmap for that ‘Viksit Bharat’ in the Budget speech by the Finance Minister,” PTI reports.

Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia told reporters, “…Every sector from agriculture, rural development, education, healthcare has been kept focussed in the budget.”

Similarly, Kangana Ranaut, BJP MP from Mandi, Himachal Pradesh told,  “Relief fund has been promised for Himachal Pradesh. We are very happy with the budget…,” the news agency ANI quotes as she is saying.
