Patna’s Gandhi Maidan transformed into a major political stage on Thursday as Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and other top NDA leaders arrived to witness Nitish Kumar take oath as Bihar’s Chief Minister for the record tenth time.

Large crowds gathered at the venue early in the morning, filling the ground with slogans, cheers, and tricolour flags as security forces kept a close watch. Bihar Governor Arif Mohammad Khan administered the oath to Nitish Kumar, formally marking the beginning of the new NDA government.

Nitish Kumar had been unanimously elected the leader of the NDA Legislature Party on Wednesday after the newly elected MLAs met in Patna. The JD(U) chief was also elected leader of his party’s Legislature Party earlier in the day.
