BJP Leader R Ashoka Claims Kerala Govt Involvement In Dharmasthala Case As Exhuming Begins

Dharmasthala, Karnataka: Leader of the Opposition in Karnataka R Ashoka on July 28 claimed that the anonymous complainant in the alleged mass murder case in Dharmasthala was supported by the Kerala government. He said the person who made the allegations is a Muslim individual and the entire background of this case appears to be rooted in Kerala.

According to reports by multiple media outlets, the unanimous complainant, who confessed that he was forced to bury dead bodies of hundreds of murdered women and girls, was a Dalit sanitation worker who spent decades working at Dharmasthala.

However, pointing a finger at the Kerala government, the BJP leader alleged that there is an invisible hand behind this case and that someone is “deliberately complicating” the case, Vartha Bharati reported, citing Ashoka.

The opposition leader flagged the connection between Dharmasthala and Kerala, stating that he fears that tomorrow this so-called progressive group will not even accept the SIT’s findings. The entire Dharmasthala episode, the BJP leader claims, is being widely discussed in Kerala, adding that the conspiracy behind it will be revealed during the investigation, and he will respond more extensively later. Earlier, Communist Party of India (CPI) Rajya Sabha MP P Sandosh Kumar has formally demanded National Investigation Agency (NIA) to probe into the alleged crimes and mass concealment in Dharmasthala.

“If the report is in their favor, they’ll accept it, otherwise, they’ll call the investigation flawed,” the news portal quoted the BJP leader. Stating that he welcomes the SIT probe, Ashoka said spreading misinformation about the Shri Manjunatha Swamy temple in Dharmasthala was wrong. Earlier, he had demanded an impartial investigation, stressing that the probe should not aim to falsely implicate anyone.

The SIT team recently initiated exhumation of bodies at identified burial sites in Dharmasthala village, following the explosive revelation by the former worker, the witness and the whistleblower. He has been escorted to the alleged burial sites for the exhumation of bodies.
