However, a statement released by the Delhi Police through news agency ANI contradicted Mishra’s claims. They clarified that the glass was not deliberately scattered but had broken in transit. The pieces had fallen from an e-rickshaw transporting 19 sheets of glass from Shalimar Garden, Uttar Pradesh, to Seelampur in Delhi. According to police, the driver, identified as Kusum Pal, has been detained for questioning.
“The e-rickshaw, which was carrying a total of 19 glasses from Shalimar Garden, UP, to Seelampur, has been identified. The glasses were broken during the journey to the destination. The driver has been identified as Kusum Pal. He has been detained for further questioning,” ANI quoted as Delhi Police saying.
The clarification followed a complaint lodged by a junior engineer from the Public Works Department (PWD), prompting a case to be registered on July 12. The investigation revealed that the damage occurred during the journey and not due to any malicious intent.
