Black Magic: Director, Teachers Kill Class 2 Boy For 'Glory' Of School In Hathras

A shocking incident in Uttar Pradesh’s Hathras has once again highlighted the deep-rooted grip of superstition in India, as a Class 2 student fell victim to a black magic ritual allegedly intended to enhance the reputation of D. L. Public School by some of the school heads, police stated on Thursday.

School director Dinesh Baghel, his father Jashodhan Singh, and three teachers—Laxman Singh, Veerpal Singh, and Ramprakash Solanki—were involved in the black magic and the boy’s death, Hathras SP Nipun Agarwal said that the accused carried out the crime to bring success and ‘glory’ to the school. “The boy was sacrificed as part of a ritual for the school’s supposed success and glory. We are investigating if any other individuals were involved in the murder,” the Times of India quoted the SP. The police have arrested five, including the school director and three teachers, for their involvement in the murder.

The incident came to light when a staff member and other students on Monday morning found the boy’s unconscious body in his hostel bed. School director Baghel, instead of reporting the death, reportedly attempted to cover up the crime by taking the boy’s body in his car and driving around Agra and Aligarh for several hours.

The family, who were informed that the boy was unwell, arrived at the school but could not find him. The boy’s father, Kushwaha, a software engineer, felt suspicious and informed the local police. The police started searching for the boy and found the body inside the director’s car with injury marks around the neck. The police said the autopsy report later revealed that the boy was strangled to death on Sunday night. The police have registered the case against the five accused under BNS Section 103(1).

The school has around 600 students, and the hostel, where the boy was found dead, accommodated kids from Classes 1 to 5. Notably, it was revealed that the five had earlier tried to kill another boy, which was not successful. Police found that the school director’s father believed in black magic and tantrik rituals, and had convinced his son and three other teachers to do black magic to bring fame to the school.
