Centre Trying To Hack Into My Phone And Email, Says Mahua Moitra

Mahua Moitra, the Trinamool Congress member in the Lok Sabha, alleged that she received text and email from Apple with a warning that the central government is trying to hack into her phone and email. Mahua Moitra took to her X handle to raise this serious allegation and also shared screenshots of Apple”s warning message. This comes as the Trinamool Congress MP is being probed by Parliament’s Ethics Committee in connection with the cash-for-query case.

“Received text & email from Apple warning me Govt trying to hack into my phone & email. @HMOIndia- get a life. Adani & PMO bullies – your fear makes me pity you,” wrote Mahua Moitra in a post on X. Mahua Moitra also tagged Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Priyanka Chaturvedi in the post and wrote, “you, I , & 3 other INDIAns have got it so far.” Priyanka Chaturvedi has also raised a similar allegation today, October 31. “So not just me but also @MahuaMoitra has received this warning from Apple. Will @HMOIndia investigate?” wrote the Shiv Sena MP on her X handle. Chaturvedi also shared a screenshot of the warning message.

The warning message from Apple is titled “ALERT: State-sponsored attackers may be targeting your iPhone”. It further states that “These attackers are likely targeting you individually because of who you are or what you do. If your device is compromised by a state-sponsored attacker, they may be able to remotely access your sensitive data, communications, or even the camera and microphone.” This message also urges the recipient to take the warning seriously. The central government or any agencies have not yet responded to the allegations raised by Mahua Moitra.
