The Kasarwadavali police issued notice to Ashwajit Gaikwad, son of bureaucrat and reportedly a leader of BJP”s youth wing in Thane, and two others who allegedly tried to mow down a female friend, Priya Singh.

According to News 18 report, the alleged incident took place near a hotel in Maharashtra’s Thane. The incident has left the victim seriously injured. The incident took place on December 11 and the victim is undergoing treatment in a private hospital.

Amar Singh Jadhav, DCP zone-5 confirmed the development of the investigation and said that based on the victim’s statement and the FIR, they have issued legal notices under section 41-D of CrPC.

The victim who is also a model and Instagram influencer has posted the images of the injuries and also narrated the ordeal on social media. She accused police for not including attempt to murder against the accused and for not arresting the culprits even after four days of the incident. She alleged that the police didn’t get back to her in the past 5 days and only visited when the incident got media attention.

The officials have confirmed that they have seized the SUV involved in the incident in which Singh was tried to mow down. The police has now registered cases against accused under Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 279 (rash driving), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) and others at the Kasarvadavali police station.
