Edited by Timeline News Desk

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has claimed that Elon Musk’s “Tesla wanted to come to Telangana but BJP forcibly took it to Gujarat”. He also told India Today that Foxconn is also being pressurised to move to Gujarat.

He alleged that the Centre is not offering national projects to Telangana. He added that the Modi government treats people in Telangana as second-class citizens.

Musk had initially confirmed his visit to India for April 21 and 22, 2024, during which he was expected to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other key government figures, including Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal. However, Musk postponed his trip, citing work obligations with Tesla.

During his visit, Musk was expected to make several announcements, including the launch of the Starlink service and investment plans ranging from $2 billion to $3 billion for the country. However, he intends to visit later in the year.

Reports suggest that Tesla is exploring the possibility of setting up an electric vehicle (EV) plant in India, with Tamil Nadu emerging as a potential manufacturing site. However, as of now, no definitive decision has been made.
