A cafe in Gurugram reportedly witnessed five people vomiting blood after eating mouth freshener. The incident happened on March 2 and all five friends who used mouth freshener were seen vomiting blood anxiously at the cafe. Mouth freshener is usually used after a meal to feel a better mood and there have been reports of it containing certain acids.
According to a report by NDTV, the victims reported a burning sensation in their mouths after eating the mouth freshener. The victims then began to throw up the mouth freshener and then vomited blood. All five people have been admitted to the hospital and two among them are reported to be in critical condition.
In a video recorded by Ankit Kumar, all his wife and five friends were seen crying in displeasure and nervous. Some of them were heard saying they were burning.
Asking the people in the café to call the police, Ankit Kumar expressed his doubts over the mixture in the mouth freshener and reacted sharply saying, “We don”t know what they have mixed (in the mouth freshener). Everyone here is vomiting. They have cuts on their tongues. Their mouths are burning. Don”t know what type of acid they have given us.”
However, Mr Kumar in his complaint to the police accused the mouth freshener of having added an acid that can lead to death. “I showed the packet of the mouth freshener to a doctor, who said it was dry ice. According to the doctor, it is an acid which can lead to death,” he said to the police.
