Uttarkashi, Uttarakhand: Six people have been killed as a private helicopter with seven on board crashed in Uttarkashi district in Uttarakhand on Thursday morning. The tragedy occurred at around 9 am near Gangnani. The private company helicopter was flying from Dehradun to Gangotri when the incident happened.

Police, Army Force, a Disaster Management team, and ambulances rushed to the accident-hit spot. According to Uttarkashi District Disaster Management Officer Shardul Singh, one person has been rescued.

The people on board have been identified as Vinit Gupta, Arvind Agarwal, Vipin Agarwal, Pinki Agarwal, Rashmi, and Kishore Jadhav. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed sorrow over the lives lost in the accident. In a social media post, the chief minister instructed the administration to provide all possible help to the injured and probe the incident. He said SDRF and district administration teams have immediately reached the spot for relief and rescue work.

“I am constantly in touch with the officials and monitoring every situation,” Pushkar Singh wrote on X.

The cause of the tragic incident is to be investigated. After coming to know the crash, locals and police reached the spot and launched the rescue operation.
