Aakashi Sanjiv Bhatt and Shantanu Sanjiv Bhatt, the two children of former IPS officer Sanjiv Bhatt, penned an emotional note wishing their father on his 60th birthday through the official X handle of Sanjiv.

The note consisting of paras filled with several emotions was posted along with their ‘happy family photo’. Unable to hold on to the bitter truth of him being away from the family, they wrote, “Today, as you complete 60 glorious years of your life, I wish we could hug you to never let go and smother you with wishes and love while you opened your presents and celebrated your birthday in the warmth of our home with us, your family!”

The beautiful moments they had together during their past birthdays was recollected in the post, “There was a time, not too long ago, when each birthday was celebrated as a wonderful year gone by, and an open armed welcome to the new exciting year ahead;”. Painfully now they stare at abyss waiting for his return for the last 5 years, 3 months and 17 days. With immense hope of his return, they penned, “There was a time, not too long ago, when each birthday was celebrated as a wonderful year gone by, and an open armed welcome to the new exciting year ahead”.

Giving him more strength to hold on, thy wrote, “Dad, you deserve the world… I only wish the world was deserving of a brave and honest man like you! Words cannot do justice to how proud we are of you! Your courage, strength and resolve have and continue to inspire us and tens of thousands across the world.”

In this draconian regime, foolishly thinking to break him, imprisoning him for five years, they never knew that he was made of steel “that they cannot even begin to fathom. In an attempt to break you, they have only made you unsurmountable and indestructible”, the post read.

With a positive note, wishing for a change, the post concluded, “I hope and pray that the new year will lead to an awakening in the hearts and minds of the people of India who will wake up from their deep slumber of ignorance and apathy and fight for the India we knew and loved, the India you deserve..”

Sanjiv Bhatt has been convicted to life imprisonment in a case of custodial death and is facing a trail on charges of planting drugs on a Rajasthan lawyer. He was dismissed from service for absenteeism.
