Karnataka Lorry Carrying Goods From Kerala Brutally Attacked By Criminal Gang In Maharashtra; Lorry Workers Severely Injured
Umarkhed, Maharashtra: A criminal gang intercepted and brutally attacked a truck transporting goods (Apples) from Kerala to Madhya Pradesh. The incident occurred at Umarkhed in Maharashtra on Friday, April 24.
According to the truck workers, the attackers chased the vehicle for several kilometers before blocking it in a deserted area. The armed gang, without any provocation, as per lorry workers, attacked the two men with lethal weapons, inflicting deep wounds on their heads, faces, and bodies.

Both the lorry workers were left unconscious on the road. Their lives were saved after local residents and other travelers rushed them to a nearby hospital. Due to the severity of their injuries, both have been shifted to Yashosai Hospital.
The victims of the attack are the driver, Alvin Pais (a native of Mangaluru), and the assistant, Mohammed Nadhaf Nisar Qureshi (a native of Thane, Maharashtra). The vehicle is registered in the name of Syed Wajid Ali, a native of Udupi, Karnataka.
Such gangs have reportedly been unleashing violence on the highways for the past few years, complaints from truck owners, traders and workers. A press release issued by the truck owners, traders, and workers, demanded authorities register a case of attempted murder against the culprits and take “immediate, stringent legal action.”
“The authorities must ensure emergency financial aid, medical assistance, and compensation for the injured workers,” the release added.
