Man Beaten To Death By Mob After Urinating On Woman From Moving Auto In Chennai
Chennai: A 30-year-old man was beaten to death by a mob in Chennai’s Broadway area early Wednesday morning after he allegedly urinated on a woman from a moving auto, triggering outrage among bystanders, as per TOI.
The victim, identified as Kalaiselvan, was a load van driver from Triplicane. According to police, he was travelling in an auto with his friend Balaji when the incident occurred near Prakasam Salai.
Police said Kalaiselvan was reportedly drunk and urinated from the auto while it was moving. The act allegedly soiled the clothes of a woman who was walking nearby. The woman immediately confronted the two men, leading to an argument on the roadside.
Hearing the commotion, several people in the area came to the woman’s defence. The situation quickly escalated as a group of bystanders allegedly attacked Kalaiselvan and his friend.

During the assault, Kalaiselvan collapsed and lost consciousness. Balaji also suffered serious injuries in the attack.
After receiving information about the incident, Kalaiselvan’s brother Kalaivanan rushed to the spot and took him to the nearby Government Stanley Medical College Hospital. However, doctors declared him dead on arrival.
The victim’s family has refused to accept the body until those responsible for the attack are arrested. Kalaivanan accused the police of negligence, claiming the incident happened close to a police station and officers did not immediately arrange an ambulance.

Police from Esplanade Police Station have registered a case and started an investigation. Officers are currently examining CCTV footage from the area to identify the people involved in the attack, who reportedly fled the scene after the incident.
