
Missed Plane Due To Traffic, Bhoomi Chauhan Recounts Lucky Escape From Crashed Air India Flight (Photo on X@erbmjha )
Ahmedabad, Gujarat: Bhoomi Chauhan, a resident of Gujarat’s Bharuch, had a close call from Thursday’s Air India flight, AI-171, which crashed, killing 241 of the 242 on board after she missed the plane due to boarding delay. The tragic crash left only one survivor as he jumped through an emergency exit.
Though Bhoomi is in the relief of the narrow escape from near-to death situation, the terror emanating from the devastating crash of the London-bound flight she was supposed to board is yet to get rid of her. Bhoomi was scheduled to board AI 171 to travel to London, where she lives with her husband.

Recounting the horrific experience, Bhoomi says they arrived at the check-in gate 10 minutes late after getting struck in the road traffic in the Ahmedabad city area. The woman, who was visiting India after two years and was on a holiday, was not allowed to board the plane.
It was when she was stepping out of the airport that she learnt that the flight she had just missed had crashed minutes after take off. When I came to know that the flight had crashed, I began shivering. My legs started trembling. “I felt numb for quite some time. I thank my mother Goddess that I am safe, but the incident is absolutely terrifying,” Bhoomi was heard saying in a video shared by news agency ANI.

Bhoomi’s mother told the news agency that they thanked Mother Goddess for protecting her daughter. Her father explained that the traffic congestion on the way to the airport caused them to arrive late at the airport, leading to what they call divine saving from the catastrophic incident.
“Despite their requests, they were not allowed to board the flight. We arrived at the airport late because of traffic. We asked, but they didn’t allow us. When we came out of the airport, we received the news that the plane had crashed,” the news agency quoted Bhoomi’s father.
The crash of the ill-fated Boeing 787-8, Air India flight 171 plane, killed 241 people on board, including 12 crew members. The total death toll from the plane crash has surpassed 290, including passengers, ground victims, and medical students at BJ Medical College Civil Hospital. The plane first hit the mess building and then crashed into the Atulyam Hostel, causing casualties.
