Moradabad Authority Issues Notice Against Mustafa Mosque On Delhi Road, Claims Illegal Construction

Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh: The Moradabad Development Authority (MDA) has issued a notice regarding the Mustafa Mosque on Delhi Road. The authority has declared the construction unauthorized and has sought a response from the mosque’s supervisor.

Located along the Lucknow-Delhi Highway adjacent to Teerthanker Mahaveer University (TMU) in Pakbara, the decades-old mosque is allegedly built across a 300-square-meter area of government land without the necessary regulatory approvals, the MDA claimed.

The authority directed the mosque’s Mutawalli (caretaker) or management to show cause as to why the unauthorized structure should not be dismantled, leading to potential demolition drive.

The officials cited that the construction violates Sections 14 and 15 of the Uttar Pradesh Urban Planning and Development Act, 1973, as no official approval documents were provided on-site.
