Kochi, Kerala: Film maker Major Ravi is facing public outrage over his remarks about the ongoing students protest at Jantar Mantar. Ravi, during an interview, had slammed Mohanlal’s daughter, actor Vismaya, saying she lacked adequate political understanding.

Ravi also made derogatory remark about the students protest was backed by foreign fund and conspiracy. He also said that though he initially felt sympathy seeing students being beaten by Delhi police, he later realised that most of them were not students by adults.

Ravi also alleged that the hunger strike by activist Sonam Wangchuk was also part of the foreign efforts, claiming that the ongoing students protest in Delhi was run by a person in the United States.

The legal notice sent by Plus Two student Malavika, has demanded Ravi to  issue a public apology within seven days of receiving the notice, and remove the video from social media.

The film maker also alleged that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi visited the protest site for political advantages, and claimed that the support expressed by some of the artist for the protest was to gain popularity and secure opportunities.
