Chennai, Tamil Nadu: Tamil Nadu Forest Department has served a legal notice on actor Chiyaan Vikram requesting details and documents after he shared an Instagram video featuring him playing with an endangered Lar Gibbon. The video had sparked scrutiny over the possession of the protected species
Vikram had deleted the Instagram reel featuring him with the exotic monkey after reports of a forest department enquiry. The white-handed gibbon is an endangered lesser ape native to the tropical rainforests of Southeast Asia. Known for remarkable agility, they use long arms to swing through trees and feature a distinct ring of white fur around their face.
