Police apprehended alleged murderer of Prathima K S, a 45 year old official of Karnataka government. Ms. Prathima was stabbed to death at her home in Bengaluru on Saturday night, said police. She was Deputy Director in the Mines and Geology Department of Karnataka.
According to a report, one of the suspect was caught by the Bengaluru police. Bengaluru Police Commissioner, B Dayanand said the apprehended suspect has worked as a driver but was terminated some 10 days before the murder.
Ms. Prathima was found dead by her brother, who reached her home on early Sunday morning. She was said to be living alone as her husband and son lived in Karnataka”s Shivamoga district. As per NDTV, the suspect who was identified as Kiran was an on-contract government employee. Report said the murder was due to the involvement of Ms. Prathima in Mr. Kiran’s termination from the job.
Report says, Ms Prathima’s body was found with throat slit open, and was found around 8;30 am on Sunday. On Saturday, Ms Prathima was dropped back to home around 6 pm by her driver, who is alleged to be the replacement of Mr. Kiran. Preliminary report suggested that the murder occurred between at 8 pm and 8 am. According to police, there were multiple miscreants present at the government official’s home at the time of murder.
Dinesh, a senior officer at Karnataka’s Environment Department remarked that Ms Prathima was a hard worker. He said, “she was a very brave too. Be it raids or any action…she earned a great reputation in the department. He also added that Ms. Prathima managed to stay clear of making enemies.
Chief Minister Of Karnataka, Siddaramaiah said, there will be thorough investigation into the case.
