Parking Dispute, Actor Huma Qureshi' Cousin Killed By Neighbours In Delhi's Bhogal

New Delhi: Following a dispute over parking in southeast Delhi’s Bhogal area, actor Huma Qureshi’s cousin, Asif Qureshi, was stabbed to death on Thursday. The accused – two teenagers – have been taken into custody in connection with the incident.

The accused have been identified as 19-year-old Ujjwal and 18-year-old Gautam. The video being circulated online shows the dispute turning into a brutal assault and stabbing, leading to the death of 42-year-old Asif.

The issue had long existed, and the accused were the neighbors of the victim. The dispute was over the parking of a two-wheeler outside Asif’s house, eventually quickly escalating into physical assault.

According to Sainaz Qureshi, Asif’s wife, it was not the first time the neighbors had clashed with her husband over parking issue. She told police it was when Asif returned to his home and found the accused’s bike blocking the entrance of his home that he asked the neighbors to remove it, leading to a confrontation and a physical assault, leaving Asif dead.

The accused began abusing the victim and then physically attacked him with a sharp, pointed object, believed to be a poker. Asif reportedly sustained a deep chest wound. Though he was rushed to a nearby hospital, he was declared dead on arrival.

The accused live only a few houses away from Asif’s home. Both have been arrested after the incident, and the case was also registered at the Hazrat Nizamuddin police station under sections 103(1) and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Police said an investigation is underway to examine the full sequence of events.
