Prime Minister Narendra Modi is celebrating his 73rd birthday today and wishes are pouring in for the BJP leader who has been in power for past nine years.

Several leaders including his colleagues and cabinet members came forward wishing PM Modi on his birthday. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath bestowed his wishes by addressing the PM as ‘the architect of new India’.

“Happy birthday to the great devotee of Maa Bharati, the architect of “New India”, the dreamer of “Developed India”, committed towards “One India – Best India”, the most popular politician of the world, the famous Prime Minister of the country Shri @narendramodiji. Congrats! Your dedication and vision for building a “developed India” is incomparable. By the grace of Lord Shri Ram, may you be blessed with long life and good health, may we all continue to receive your successful leadership, this is our prayer.”UP CM posted on his X handle.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi greeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his birthday, “Wishing PM Narendra Modi a happy birthday”,he posted on X.

President Droupadi Murmu extended birthday wishes, she said “I wish that with your far-reaching vision and strong leadership, you pave the way for the overall development of India in the “Amrit Kaal” on her X handle.


Union Minister Amit Shah has also extended his birthday greetings and wrote,” I wish a very happy birthday to the popular Prime Minister of the country, Shri @narendramodi ji, who has brought prosperity and confidence in the lives of crores of people through his foresight, tireless hard work and selfless service. I also pray to God for your long life and good health.”

In another post he wrote, “It is a privilege for me to get the opportunity to serve the country under the guidance of such a unique leader.”

Several other tweets poured in:

J P Nadda, President of Bharatiya Janata Party wrote on X along with a video, “I heartily congratulate the world”s most popular public leader, respected Prime Minister Shri @narendramodiji on his birthday.”

Rajnath Singh wrote, “Many happy returns of the day to the successful and hard-working Prime Minister of India, Shri @narendramodi ji. He has not only given a new identity to India but has also increased its prestige in the entire world. Fully committed to public welfare and poor welfare, Modiji has taken India to new heights of development. Under his leadership, India continued to progress and he continued to serve Mother India. I pray to God for his good health and long life.”

Badminton player Saina Nehwal also extended her birthday wish to the PM, “Happy birthday to sir @narendramodiyour hard work and never give up attitude really inspire all of us … your leadership is remarkable ”

The official social media handle of BJP decided to organise a digital celebration and also encouraged the people to wish Modi as a cohesive family, ““Wish PM Modi on his 73rd birthday together as a big family! Individuals can share family ecards along with friends and family. Elected representatives can extend #HappyBdayModiji wishes along with their constituents and their families,” the party posted.

Meanwhile to celebrate his birthday, the party has planned to launch variety of projects in different sectors. Today he will inaugurate Phase 1 of India International Convention and Expo Center called Yashobhoomi at New Delhi. There are various other programmes including Sewa Pakhwada and Namo Vikas Utsav.

Narendra Modi was born in Gujarat’s Vadnagar on 17th September 1950.
