Pralhad Joshi Named New Education Minister Following Dharmendra Pradhan's Resignation

New Delhi: Following the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan as Union Education Minister, Union Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution has been appointed as the new education minster.

Pradhan tendered his resignation following weeks long intense protest by the students and youth led by the CJP over NEET exam question paper leak.

Currently the union minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution & New and Renewable Energy, Joshi has been given the additional charge of the Education Ministry.  Joshi will handle the ministry’s responsibilities until a new Education Minister is appointed.

During the talk between Union minister JP Nadda and Cockroach Janta Party delegation, the minister has agreed to provide copies of FIRs filed during the protests. He said no retaliatory action would be taken against protesters, while the party’s five-point charter in addition to the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan and compensation to the families of students who died by suicide over NEET exam paper leak.
