Qaide Millath Centre: IUML National Headquarters To Be Inaugurated In August

New Delhi: The Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) is all set to inaugurate its national headquarters in Delhi on August 24, Sunday. The inauguration will be conducted by party chairperson, Sayyid Sadiq Ali Shihab Thangal. The new national headquarters building is situated in Daryaganj, located inside the walled city of Old Delhi. The event will be held at around 3 pm in New Delhi’s Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium.

So far, the Muslim League’s headquarters were in Chennai, and the party’s endeavour to have an own headquarters in the national capital was aimed at expanding its activities in northern India, says IUML student body Muslim Students Federation (MSF) national president P V Ahmed Saju.

Speaking to Timeline, Saju said that it was a long-held wish to have a headquarters in Delhi as MPs and party activities are largely based out of the national capital.

The party bought the property and innovated the building, which has all the state of the art facilities, including the auditorium, conference hall, library, and meeting hall. The five-storey building complex was made possible by collecting funds from party workers, the MSF leader said. In one month after the announcement, the party could raise over 26 crore to realise its ambitious project.

The party activities will be coordinated from its own office in Delhi from now onwards. Simultaneously, since the IUML national president, K M Kader Mohideen, is based out of Tamil Nadu, the office in Chennai will also be operational. ‘While the Chennai office will coordinate activities in the south, the Delhi office will manage operations in the north,’ Saju noted.

“Further details regarding the inauguration of the new national headquarters building will be provided later,” Saju added. Last month, the party national leadership temporarily postponed the Qaide Millath Centre inauguration, which was originally scheduled for an earlier date.
