Singer Chinmayi Sripada Demands Immediate Arrest Of HR Manager In Viral Train Molestation Case

The viral video showing the molestation of a minor girl on a passenger train has sparked nationwide outrage, putting a spotlight on the safety of women and children in public spaces.

The man seen in the footage has been identified as Shashi Bhushan Upadhyay, reportedly an HR Manager. The incident, which occurred in a nearly empty train compartment earlier this week, was recorded by a vigilant passenger and quickly went viral on social media, drawing widespread condemnation.

The video shows Upadhyay sitting beside a young girl and her mother, engaging in inappropriate behaviour toward the minor. When confronted, he reportedly offered excuses before ultimately admitting his misconduct. Despite the clear evidence, authorities have yet to confirm an official arrest, fueling anger and demands for swift justice.

Renowned singer and social activist Chinmayi Sripada has taken a strong stand against the inaction, addressing the case on her social media platforms.

She expressed shock that despite the video going viral on X, Upadhyay has not been arrested. Chinmayi’s post emphasised the urgency of holding perpetrators accountable and underscored the need for immediate legal action under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

In her statements, Chinmayi also referenced other individuals currently accused of sexual assault, highlighting a broader issue of delayed justice and the systemic failure to protect vulnerable victims.

Authorities in Bihar’s Gopalganj district have acknowledged the viral video and confirmed that the matter has been referred to their cyber cell for investigation.

While police say they are examining the case, the absence of an immediate arrest has drawn criticism from activists, celebrities, and the general public. The Gopalganj Police have assured the public that action is underway, but the lack of concrete updates has only intensified the call for accountability.
