Tamil Nadu: 9th-Grade Schoolgirls Suspended For Drinking Alcohol In Class
Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu: Six Class 9th school girls were suspended after allegedly drinking alcohol inside a classroom at a government-aided school in Palayamkottai Tirunelveli.
The video of the girls drinking alcohol inside the classroom has gone viral on social media, sparking widespread public outrage against the school administration.

The students were seen in school uniform sitting in a circle inside a classroom. One of the girls poured liquor and mixed it with water into plastic cups and drank. The incident was recorded by a fellow student.
After the incident ignited public fury, the school management conducted an internal inquiry confirming the incident. The administration hence provided counseling to the students involved and also suspended all the six students for misconduct. The school, however, has allowed the students to visit school to attend exams.
Chief Educational Officer M Sivakumar said that he could conduct an investigation to ascertain how the students procured liquor and who supplied the alcohol to the students.
