Telangana: A reactor blast at Sigachi Chemical Industry in Pashamylaram in Telangana killed at least 10, and injured over dozens on Monday (June 30), according to officials. The injured people were rescued and shifted to hospital.
The rescue operation is continuing, however, authorities have not recovered bodies from the site so far.

“The incident took place at Sigachi Pharma Company, Pasamailaram Phase 1. Eleven fire tenders have reached the site. Nearly 15-20 people have been injured. Further details awaited,” ANI quoted, Telangana Fire Officials as saying.
According to media reports, the blasts were so powerful that some workers were thrown nearly 100 meters away, and many workers are also feared to have been trapped due to the explosion. The incident occurred between duty hours, and Indian Express reports that a total of 61 people were in the building when the blast took place.
Expressing deep anguish over the fire incident, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy instructed officials to take every necessary measure for the rescue of any workers trapped, and to ensure the injured receive optimal medical attention.

Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge said he was deeply pained by the fire incident.
“Extremely anguished by the loss of precious lives, following a chemical factory blast in Sangareddy district in Telangana. I extend my heartfelt condolences to the families of the bereaved. My thoughts and prayers are with the injured. We wish them a speedy recovery. The State Govt and authorities are working at a war footing in their rescue efforts and providing immediate medical and other assistance to the injured,” said in a X post.
