The local in the area reached the bus in a mini-truck and transferred all 27 pilgrims from the bus by breaking the rear window of the bus. Meanwhile, the mini-truck too got stranded on the causeway during the rescue operation. And hence, a larger truck was arranged to transfer these 29 people to it.

The pilgrims from Tamil Nadu were traveling to Somnath after having a darshan at Nishkalank Mahadev temple.
Fact checker Muhammed Zubair slammed the national media for not revealing the details regarding the local Muslim rescuers while reporting the incident. He in his post on X wrote, “You’ll see a lot of news channels reporting about Pilgrims being rescued, You’ll hardly see them reporting on who the rescuers are. It’s important to report this as National TV Media and Godi Anchors are busy running non stop Anti-muslim propaganda.”
Meanwhile, he added that a local news channel News Navajivan had only attempted to interview the rescuers.
