While presenting the Interim Budget, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitaraman praised India under Modi government, as a country that is capable of creating more opportunities. She said, “The country is capable of creating more opportunities… sky is the limit”.
During the presentation of the Budget, the Finance Minister said the government will adopt economic policies that will foster and sustain growth, facilitate inclusivity and sustainable development”. She said, despite the challenges brought in by the Covid 19 global pandemic, the continued on ‘PM Awas Yojana Rural’, a programme with focus on rural developments. Sitaraman added that the government is closing in on the target of 3 crore houses. Indicating to hold power in upcoming Lok Sabha election, she said “2 crore more houses will be taken up in the next 5 years to meet the requirement arising from increase in the number of families.”
Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitaraman started to present the Interim Budget of 2024, which is also known as Narendra Modi government 2.0’s last Budget, ahead of the Lok Sabha election. The comprehensive Budget for the fiscal year of 2024-25 will be presented after the formation of new government.
