After filling up with fuel, nineteen vehicles from Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav’s convoy broke down late Thursday night. The convoy reportedly stopped at a petrol pump for refueling. Vehicles who managed to leave the pump broke down on the highway shortly after leaving.

Later, it was found that the diesel which was filled in the chief minister’s convoy was allegedly mixed with water. The fuel station was sealed after the fraudulent act came to light, as per a report by news agency PTI.

The vehicles were supposed to be part of chief minister Mohan Yadav’s convoy on Friday, which was in the Ratlam district of Madhya Pradesh for a regional industry skill and development conclave.

According to Shubham Parmar, one of the drivers of the convoy, the vehicles were on their way from Indore for the Chief Minister’s program on Friday. He says they came from Indore, got down at a petrol pump and refueled, adding that the first few vehicles that left the petrol pump stopped on the highway. “But the others stopped at the petrol pump itself,” Indian Express quoted the driver.

The driver further said that when they checked, they found that the diesel was mixed with water. After that, they informed the local authorities about the fuel station, and it was subsequently sealed.

According to Ashish Upadhyay, the local naib tehsildar, the diesel tanks may have been filled with rain water in the last few days, leading to pollution. Upadhyay said that he questioned the petrol pump authorities, who explained the possibility of rain water contaminating the fuel.

However, authorities sealed the pump, and the owner will be called for questioning. An investigation is also underway to ascertain the reason for the pollution.
