Amberpet, Hyderabad: Police arrested a couple living in Amberpet in Hyderabad for allegedly preparing to live-stream a sex act from the terrace of their home and selling them by charging viewers for watching their lovemaking sessions. The live video would cost Rs 2,000 while a recorded clip would be sold for Rs 500.

The couple used a social media app to engage in the act, live-streaming their hot encounters to the online customers for money. The couple, a 40-year-old man and his 37-year-old wife, were caught in the act on June 17. The police team, comprising three women officers, arrested the accused while they were in a seminary position. Officials also seized several items, including high-definition cameras, that were seized from their house.

A Task Force team, along with Amberpet police, on a specific alert raided the accused’s house in a residential area of Amberpet. According to the police, the search was carried out with a warrant and independent witnesses. The terrace on which the act was recorded and live-streamed was covered on all sides with curtains. The couple, used HD cameras for recording their acts, reportedly wore masks to hide their identities.

According to a report by NDTV, the couple couldn’t afford to pay the college fees of their two daughters, thus resorting to live-streaming their sexual actions for money to fund their education. The man, who is an auto driver, was also suffering from ill health and could not afford the medical expenses, the news portal reported.

The couple couldn’t afford to pay the college fees of their two daughters, both of whom are meritorious students. One of them is a second-year B. Tech student while the other recently secured 468 out of 470 in her intermediate exam and was preparing to enter college.

Besides, the man, who is an auto driver, was reportedly suffering from ill health and couldn’t afford the medical expenses, the police said.

A case under the provisions of the Information Technology Act has been registered, and an investigation is underway, as per the police.
