It is important to ensure that these benefits reach the targeted and eligible people the following time. For that, Aadhar-based authentication for Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) which is a cost-effective identification could be done for targeted delivery of benefits to the intended beneficiaries. To officially augment this authentication, the Government has issued further directions to the public sector Oil Marketing Companies (OMCS) to necessarily undertake the process of the identification of PAHAL and PMUY beneficiaries in October 2023.
As per the government report, more than 30.19 crore LPG consumers are enrolled under the PAHAL (Pratyaksh Hanstantrit Labh) scheme to avail of this subsidiary directly through their bank accounts. Consumers can complete their biometric Aadhar authentication through various methods including mobile applications provided by their respective OMCs. This will allow them to undertake the authentication using their smartphones which is a flexible option without visiting a distributor. Apart from that Consumers can complete the authentication process by visiting their distributor’s showroom. To ease the process, consumers can also complete the identification at the time of their cylinder delivery needless of going to a place for authentication.
The government encourage every LPG Consumer to undergo biometric Aadhar authentication through any of these methods. Consumers can choose available time and preferences to complete the process. Authentication is underway and has been progressing at various places and consumer doorsteps as a part of LPG Safety Inspection and it is important to note that no service or benefits are stopped for the LPG Consumers who haven’t completed the authentication or who haven’t started processing it yet.
