Yesterday Delhi Police Raids, Today ED's. Searches Underway At AAP Leader Sanjay Singh's House

Searches and raids have become daily affairs in Delhi now. After a day long raids and interrogations a day before by Delhi Police”s Special cell, now it”s the turn of Enforcement directorate and at the receiving end is Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Sanjay Singh.

A search operation is currently in progress at the residence of the AAP leader part of an investigation to a money laundering case associated with the Delhi liquor policy.

Officials from the Enforcement Directorate (ED) arrived at the Delhi house of the Rajya Sabha MP early this morning.

Mr. Singh is the latest AAP leader to come under scrutiny by central agencies in connection with the liquor policy case. Earlier, Manish Sisodia, deputy chief minister in the AAP-led Delhi government, was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in February. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was also questioned for nearly nine hours in the same case in April.

On Tuesday, Delhi court allowed Raghav Magunta, son of YSR Congress Party Lok Sabha MP Magunta Srinivasulu Reddy and Delhi based businessman Dinesh Arora to turn approver in a money laundry case linked to the alleged Delhi excise policy scam. Special Judge M K Nagpal pardoned both Magunta and Arora has asked to cooperate with the investigation and disclose all information they have about the case to the investigators.

Earlier, Singh wrote to Finance Secretary T V Somanathan alleging that the ED is deliberately trying to defame him by linking his name to the liquor scam. He mentioned that his name was added on the basis of statement from Dinesh Arora, reports Hindustan Times.

While Singh”s father said that the department is doing their work and he will cooperate with them. ” I will wait for the time when he gets clearance,” he said.

Meanwhile, the party alleged that the probe agency is targeting “Singh” for raising the Adani matter in Parliament.

Shiva Sena Rajya Sabha MP Priyanka Chaturvedi wrote on X that the only dependent allies of BJP are ED, IT and CBI. The agencies have lost their credibility. She also condemned the raid at Sanjay Singh”s house and called it an intimidation tactics.

On ED raids, AAP spokesperson, Reena Gupta, said, “The ED raid is a result of Sanjay Singh being vocal about the Adani issue and the black money invested in his company. Neither they (ED) found anything earlier, nor will they find anything today. None of us is afraid.”
