Aspirants Demanding To Conduct UPPSC RO/ARO 2024 In A Single Day

The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) is conducting the Review Officer/Assistant Review Officer (RO/ARO) preliminary exam 2023 in December. The examination was earlier held on February 11, however, was canceled due to the alleged paper leak information. The RO/ARO examination is expected to be conducted in two shifts and aspirants are protesting against the commencement of the exam in different shifts.

Candidates are objecting to the examination in two shifts as the normalization process can impact the marks of students. A total of 10,76,004 candidates had applied for a total of 411 vacancies including 334 posts of Review Officer and 77 posts of Assistant Review Officer. However, on February 11 only 64% appeared for the exam.

Also, according to the changed exam pattern, the examination of General Studies and General Hindi will be conducted together for three hours. Apart from protesting, candidates have been demanding a single-shift exam on social media. Candidates have put different aspects behind their demands of conducting exams in single shifts. Conducting the exam in one shift will ensure transparency in the exam.

As there is no fixed criteria for normalization in conducting the exam in two shifts and candidates are not clear about the method of the formula used for the normalization in this exam. Candidates are demanding to hold the exam in a single day and objecting to changes in exam procedure after the notification has already been released.
