Global Labor Market To Expect 14% Job Growth By 2030: World Economic Forum

The World Economic Forum under its Future of Jobs Report 2025, has projected a global labor market growth of 14% by 2030, offset by an 8 percent decline. However, skills development will be essential for workers to transition into emerging roles shaped by the evolving demands in the labor market. The report highlights roles facing the sharpest decline, driven by automation, digital payments, and the growth of self-service technologies.

The report highlighted that as many as 39 percent of the worker’s core skills are expected to change by 2030. This shift underscores the importance of continuous learning, upskilling, and reskilling to prepare workers for the rapidly changing job market. Employers must prioritize training to equip their workforce with the competencies required for future roles.

The growing digital access as a transformative macro trend project to create 19 million new jobs by 2030, the report said while displacing 9 million jobs. AI and data processing alone will generate 11 million roles but replace 9 million jobs, making technological adaptation critical.

This growth is expected to be offset by the loss of 92 million jobs, resulting in a net growth of 78 million jobs by 2030.
