Davos, Switzerland: At the : At the 55th World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting in Davos, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis stated that Maharashtra has adopted 360-degree focus on key sectors including manufacturing, technology, data centers, healthcare, and clean energy.

Chief Minister who arrived to attend annual WEF meeting told PTI that he has several meetings being scheduled with the possibility for successful results in terms of investments in Maharashtra.

He said that in a meeting with WEF Founder and Chairman Klaus Schwab they have discussed collaboration between WEF and Maharashtra. Adding further, Fadnavis said that they have also discussed clean energy, electric vehicles and several other new-age industries.

“I’m holding a number of bilateral meetings here, including for potential investments in Maharashtra,” Fadnavis added.

He has also inaugurated the Maharashtra pavilion which will present several potential and existing investors in the state. Besides, he was present for the inauguration of one of the two Indian pavilions.

When asked about focus sectors for potential investments in Maharashtra, Fadnavis said: “I believe manufacturing is one focus area, while technology, data centres and there are several other focus areas where we are expecting investments. I can say that we are here with 360-degree focus areas when it comes to investments,” Economic Times reports.

Fadnavis met Cognizant CEO Ravi Kumar S and emphasised setting up offices of the company in Nagpur, Nashik, and Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar. There are also plans for creating a Medicity, and Sportscity. The chief minister has also said that discussion also focused on evolving beyond tech into sectors like fintech.

Chief Minister has also met AP Moller – Maersk CEO Vincent Clerc held discussions on State’s logistics future and the transformation of Vadhavan port into a global transhipment hub.

While underlining that his government was on track to revolutionise India’s port capacity, Chief Minister said that Maersk’s competence in port operations and energy transition can have a huge contribution in this globally game-changing hub.

In discussion with KPMG India CEO Yezdi Nagporewalla, Chief Minister taken up skilling, clean India programme, digitisation, Maharashtra innovation hub and ‘MahaCyber’, India’s first and most advanced cyber analytics & policing initiative.

The chief minister stated that he will take inputs and ideas from multiple corporates for Innovation City at Navi Mumbai.
