Spilled Milk And Sedition: Bihar Man Sues Rahul Gandhi For Rs 250 Loss

“The BJP and RSS have captured every single institution, and we are now fighting the BJP, the RSS, and the Indian State itself,” said Gandhi.

Patna, Bihar: In a bizarre incident, a Bihar man filed a complaint against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi alleging that his remarks about the “fight against the Indian state” made him drop a bucket of milk worth Rs 250.

In Bihar’s Samastipur district, Mukesh Chaudhary approached the Patna court complaining that Rahul Gandhi’s recent statements about “fighting the BJP, RSS, and the Indian State itself” shocked him, which made him drop a bucket full of five litres of milk.

“I was in such a state of shock that my bucket full of five litres of milk, priced at Rs 50 per litre, slipped off my hand. Rahul Gandhi was threatening the sovereignty of the nation,” alleged Chaudhary.

The plea sought Gandhi’s trial under several sections of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS), including Section 152, which includes sedition. However, there is no information on whether his plea has been admitted by the court.

The Lok Sabha’s Leader of Opposition, during the inauguration of the Congress’ new headquarters in New Delhi on January 15, slammed RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, who claimed that India achieved independence after the inauguration of Ayodhya’s Ram Temple.

“The BJP and RSS have captured every single institution, and we are now fighting the BJP, the RSS, and the Indian State itself,” said Gandhi.

In Assam, an FIR was registered against Gandhi for the same under sections 152 and 197(1) of the BNS for allegedly endangering the country’s sovereignty, unity, and integrity. Complainant Monjit Chetia alleged that the Rae Bareli MP’s remarks create a “dangerous narrative” that could foster “separatist statements.”

His remarks were condemned by JP Nadda, BJP president and Union Health Minister, who said, “They neither know about history nor have anything to do with it. I have said many times that their speechwriters write anything, and they just read it anywhere.”

Addressing a press conference on January 16, senior party leader and former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and Chairman of the Media and Publicity Department Pawan Khera condemned the BJP leaders for misinterpreting and distorting Gandhi’s statements.

Referring to his speech, Baghel said that Article 12 of the Indian Constitution describes various institutions of the State, which are being misused by the BJP government. He said, these institutions like the ED, the IT and the CBI were being misused by the government and the Congress was fighting against their misuse.
