The Punjab Police Recruitment Board has released a recruitment notification for Police Constable positions for District Police and Armed Police. The application window will be opened on March 14 and remain so till April 4, 2024. Interested candidates can visit the official website to register and fill the application form.
The official notification is available on the Police Board website. The recruitment will be carried through a Common Computer Based Test (CBT) followed by Physical Screening Test (PST), Physical Measurement Test (PMT) with specified qualifying parameters. The selection of candidates is merit based strictly on the basis of marks obtained in the Paper I and normalisation and indicated preferences of cadre.
As per the official notification, out of the total 1746 tentative vacancies for District Police Cadre and Armed Police Cadre 570 posts are reserved for women. The reservation of the SC and OBCs shall be done in accordance with the Punjab Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes (Reservation in Service) Act, 2006.
The pay scale of the post constable is Rs. 19,900. The Candidates should be of age between 18 to 28 years and a five year age relaxation is provided to the candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes.
The minimum educational qualification for eligibility for the Constable (District and Armed Police Cadre is 10+2 or its equivalent from a recognised Education Board or University.
All Candidates must have passed matriculation examination with Punjabi as one of the compulsory or elective subjects, according to the notification.
