UKPSC Police SI Recruitment 2024 Window To Remain Open For 4 More Days

Uttarakhand Public Service Commission (UKPSC) has reopened the registration to recruit for the 222 vacancies under the home department. Now, eligible and interested candidates will be able to apply by March 22, 2024.

The recruitment notification was published on January 31 and earlier the last date to fill the online application was February 20, 2024. However, the application window was reopened on March 16. On the official website, the dates for the written and physical exams will be announced.

Of the 222 positions available, the largest number—108—are for Police Sub-Inspectors (SI), followed by Platoon Commanders (Gulmnayak) with 89 openings and Fire Station Second Offices with 24 vacancies.

Candidates must be between the ages of 21 and 28 to be considered for the posts; however, there is an age relaxation for SC, ST, OBC, and other groups. By the application deadline, candidates had to have earned a bachelor”s degree or an intermediate (ex-army) from a state-approved school.

Prior to taking the written exam, candidates must appear for the physical exam. Those who pass the physical exam and meet the essential requirements will be invited to move on to the next round. The written exam will consist of two papers for the positions of Platoon Commander (Gulmnayak) – Male (PAC/IRB) and Sub-Inspector (SI) (Civil Police/Intelligence). The first paper will take two hours to complete and have 150 marks. The second paper, which has150 marks, will take three hours to complete. The exam for Fire Station Second Officer positions will be two hours long and worth 100 marks. Notably, there will be negative marking for every wrong answer.
